Miderma gel has been working great for me. I had surgery on 7-30-13 and the scar is just a little red yet.

3 weeks isn't long at all! It takes a good year for it to settle in and heal completely. Mine have always turned white, thin and flat in that time. I would not put anything on it yet, let it close up more. Once it's closed up tight, I used medical grade vitamin e ointment. Aloe is good, too, just make sure whatever you use is free of chemicals and preservatives. I asked a plastic surgeon. She said keep it moist, doesn't much matter what you use as long as you keep it moist. And don't let the sun on it without a thick coating of good sunscreen for a year.

Cocoa Butter

When I had a CABG 20 years ago one of the nurses suggested Cocoa Butter. We have a Cocoa Butter with Aloe that I have used since then.

PM scar

Only after the skin was healed and intact, I used Bio-Oil and NO sun. If I was going to be in the sun, I used the "Bull Frog" sunscreen...GREAT stuff. It's been 3 years and I don't even notice my scar at all. When I wear a shirt that reveals it, no one even asks anymore about.

You know you're wired when...

You fondly named your implanted buddy.
