recent surgery

I had my implant on 8/26/13 and I wake up dizzy and I hurt under my armpit, bad. I feel like I can see clearly, everything now, though instead of in a foggy drowsy way and I'm still resting a lot. Is all of this normal? I won't have a checkup until the eleventh of September.

....surgery. I'm not sure about the dizzyness though. You may want to call your doctor and let them know about that. I'd say that for the first week I was sore and took tylenol for the first 3 or 4 days. Everyone heals at different rates. After a couple of weeks I was starting to get back into more normal activities and by 4 weeks was pretty well healed up.

Make sure you keep your elbow below your shoulder on your PM side and don't lift any heavy weights per your Dr's instructions. Do move your arm as much as it feels comfortable though. You don't want to get frozen shoulder.

When you have your PM check make sure to get a copy of your interoggation report. It will have basic info on your PM's settings and mode in case you have questions.

If you have any concerns or questions this is a great site to ask for help.

Thanks friends your comments helped my jitters a lot. I realize everyone heals differently but for some reason I expected to be my old self right away. Guess not but still Im glad Im alive!

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
