Your mom will be nervous before, durng and after. It takes time to be comfortable with a device and I believe everyone needs to go at their own pace but it will eventually get better. I am nine weeks from a defib/pacemaker implant and find each day getting better and better. I strongly believe the more outside activity you can get your Mom to do, all the better. I have found a big difference since returning to work and before that, just going for a drive or a walk in the mall helped me to feel better.
So Kind

I was so nervous after my pacemaker. Still am but getting better. I agree that your mom needs to move. I also take meds for anxiety but not enough to make me sleep like that. I wish her the best. Nothing worse than being nervous all the time.
