Welcome, I too live in the UK, I had my Bi ventricular PM fitted in 2010. I have to take a beta blocker to slow down my natural pacemaker down so the my implanted pacemaker does all the work, 100% paced.

I was on 10mg of bisoprolol a day which made me like a zombie, I just found it so hard just to get out of the chair and doing a full days work was very difficult. I also got depression, I looked at the paperwork with the tablets and it stated that, 1 in 100 could suffer from severe depression.

I spoke to my cardiologist about the problem and he agreed to reduce the dose but I had to have regular pacemaker checks to ensure the PM was still doing all the work.

I'm now on 2.5mg and I'm feeling much, much better, got my old spark back. I had a Pacemaker check yesterday and the real good news is, my Implanted pacemaker is still pacing the correct amount.

I'm now hoping to reduce my depression tablets.

Do you think If you talk to your guy to see if there is room to reduce your beta blocker without causing any problems as was in my case.

I wish you all the best because it is horrible feeling that way on beta blockers.

Regards

Baz
