Headaches

So today I seem to have a really bad migraine and it feels like my pm is almost working harder than normal. Can this be? Is there any thing that I should do differently? Is this a concern??

It is common while having a migraine to feel your heart beat or puluse in your head. Your hr may go up because you can feel it , do not be concerned, its pretty normal. I have chronic migraines, first one after the PM asked the EP, told me about the same thing Smitty said above. Wish I had known about this forum at that time. Do for your migraine what you normally do. Best wishs, Jean

Migraine & Pacemaker

Hello,

I know of nothing your should do differently. A migraine is not a concern so far as the pacemaker is concerned. However since the pain from one is often a pulsating pain, I can see why anyone that has a PM and is having a migraine may think it is affecting the PM.

Actually the only thing that should affect that PM is for the heart rate to drop below the low set point on the PM at which time the PM will kick in and bring the heart rate back up to that low set point. But migraine or no migraine your PM should feel no different.

Good luck,

Smitty

I notice my heart a lot more when i have a migraine, feels like it's beating extra hard.

Are you staying hydrated? Dehydration can affect both your heart and a migraine.

yes

Yes in staying hydrated drink 4 liters of water a day.. My head is just throbbing and so is my heart.. I don't know if I should call the device and see about any events I have had on the pm, go too er or just wait it out.. I have ice on my head seems to help.. Not throbbing as much..

You know you're wired when...
