I posted last week that I was getting a new device. I am still a little sore but I do feel so much better! The last device they didn't tell me the settings so I asked this time and I will never go below 60 BPM and get zapped if over 190.It should be good for 6-8 years running 24/7. They put two new wires in so have to be careful for 6 weeks as to not pull them out. I had said about my CHF and the 300 mgs of sodium.per day. For breakfast the nurse brought a lot of stuff with too much sodium. As we talked she said she really needed to cut back on sodium and I told her she was at the right place- I had my list of things I get and where I get them and the sodium content. She was pretty impressed and asked if it was ok to copy that and give it to friends.
This is a great site and there are so many different forums to check out! I've learned a lot of things already.

Hospitals

Seems that the hospitals do not know what low sodium means. Getting very low sodium food there is possible but it is hard to get through to them.
All the people I know with CHF eat fairly normal and don't have to watch very close. When asked how I do this I say I guess we do what we have to do--but I still find good food and there is always spices to liven things up.
You know you're wired when...
Your pacemaker receives radio frequencies.

Sometimes a device must be tuned a few times before it is right. My cardiologist said it is like fine tuning a car.
Low Sodium

Glad you are feeling better.
I try to stick to a very low sodium diet too, under 500 mgs per day and often times less.
I read all the labels and eat fresh as much as possible. I truly do not feel well when I have too much sodium.
Welcome,
