New Pacemaker

Hi..I am a brand new Pacemaker recipient and I just wanted to chime in and say hello...I had to have mine installed on June 24,2013 due to an EKG showing a BPM of 38, but I had no symptoms whatsoever..Gues I am one of the lucky ones because they said I had a 100% heartblock...Drove to the ER myself after getting a call from the doc that read the EKG from the day before...6 days in hospital, treated for Lymes desease, then 28 days on lymes anitbiotics at home and all test acme back negative, but my BPM are no 76-80 so all if good...Enjoy reading all your posts, as all of this is new to me...:)

Glad you found us all, you are much better for it,so much to read and learn.
Im still quite the newbie myself,at a year.I found this site all by myself,and it's been the best thing for me.

welcome... I'm another newbie, and I can say that I have learned soo much from just reading and posting here. This site has been a God send... When I read about all the different heart conditions others have, I feel blessed to have had such a good life. Like most others here, I try to remain as positive as possible.

Just an update to anyone whop is trying to quit smoking...You can do it, I did on June 24, 2013...and I have never looked back....I can taste food now, I don't cough as much, only I have to diet, because i gained about 30 pounds...(But if I can quit the cigs, I can lose that)..My wife is happy with me, even though I am a "Bigger Guy" now.....and I am happy with myself....So if you are trying, keep trying and just do it....I smoked for 50 years about, and I quit cold turnkey without anything other than willpower...My pacemaker is doing well, I have a home monitor system that enables me not to have to go to the clinic as often, they do it right through my phone lines at home...Ain't technology grand:)
