I frequently suffer from itchiness around my pacemaker. It is very annoying. Does anyone else have this problem? I have had my pacemaker for 16 months.

...yrs of itching - especially when it's hot & I perspire.
A minor annoyance, compared to where I'd be w/o my PM.
I have several other scars that itched for a long time - off & on. Always thought it just went w/ scarring.

itching relief

On my second ICD, and yes, have experienced itching on occasion. I mix a small amount of over the counter cortisone cream, not ointment with a few drops of water and lightly apply. I learned this from a dermatologist years ago for my daughter's allergic reactions. The added few drops of water let you use less cream and expedites absorption. Use only on a closed scar. I hope you get relief soon. Hopeful Heart

I know what you're going through- I think it is that nerve reconnection makes everything hyper sensitive/ very itchy even 16 mos. later. I have mixed Benedryl cream & Coco butter or Coconut oil creating my own solution to the problem while you continue to heal. But if you have any discoloration, thinning of skin over around site call your Dr a.s.a.p. It will decrease in frequency if you don't have the other issues I mentioned!
