I received my pacemaker in June. The last few days I have noticed a sensation on my left side sporadically. It is not painful, and lasts only a second or two. I don't believe it is my heart "fluttering . Wondering if it is my pacemaker pacing? It only happened a few times yesterday. Could it be a nerve? Anyone else had similar sensation. My Bp and pulse are fine and I feel fine. Thanks

I'm like the knotguy and seem to feel every little tweak after two months plus. The whooshing of the pulse in my ears when lying down. The feeling of my heart thumping away strongly. Little zaps when the PM kicks in. Here's a new one: the taste of electricity in my mouth. All minor and the last two maybe I'm just imagining it. But I'm back exercising and walking up hills to beat the band..to the rhythm of my heart..ding buzz blort zap walla walla bingbang.
All sorts of sensations

Had your PM for a while so I'm surprised you're feeling stuff now. I've written several replies as to nerves and sensations. Most of them occur during the first few days and weeks of having the PM implanted.
I'm one of those lucky/unlucky people who have extra nerve endings in my arteries and veins. Good because I can tell you immediately what kind of a-fib I have, when it started, when it stops, etc. Bad for when they are trying to put in an IV and miss the vein, So right after they implanted the PM I got all sorts of sensations.
I could feel when the PM kicked off for the first few weeks. I'd get coughing spells because my heart would decide to take it's sweet time about initiating a beat and the PM would kick in. Wasn't expecting that.
I've also talked with people in my cardio rehab who have received stents. They talk about poking sensations. So....
What you may be feeling is the PM kicking off. You could also be feeling the PM leads. Or you body may still be adjusting to the PM but that's highly unlikely as you've had it for over six months.
If it isn't a stabbing pain or you aren't running a fever, I wouldn't worry about it. Just mention it to your EP or cardio guy on the next visit. They'll probably tell you the same. But still it's best to let them know.
If you are getting a fluttering, I'd call the cardio guy right away. You may be experiencing a-fib or a-flutter and it's something they need to know. Maybe something just to watch for the moment but still something they should know. If it is a-fib or a-flutter, they can read the PM and get a better reading on what it is.
Hope everything continues to go well for you.

nerves

We can feel nerves as they knit back together. That can happen for up to a year after implant. Anything new should be checked out.

You have the perfect reason to show off your chest.

A pacemaker suddenly quitting is no more likely to happen than you are to be struck by lightening.

If your bp is fine, your pulse is fine and you feel fine.
Then everything is fine.
Don't worry. Be happy. :-)
Have a nice day.
