Goals

Sweet mercy, finished a12 mile run today, training as hard as I can for my advanced age:). So grateful for everyone on here who taught me something about attitude, adjustment, and life with a pm. My doctors haven't been real helpful past the surgery and I really appreciate having the people on this site to turn to and learn from. God willing I will be able to do the half marathons coming up this fall.

12 Miles - hmmmmmm.....

by donr - 2013-09-01 11:09:33

....that's only a mile & a fraction short of the half Marathon. Good job.

Isn't it said that we make our own luck? Wait'll the old adrenal glands kick in come starting gun - you'll go like lubricated lightning.

Good luck in the race. Try not to show up those other non-bionic runners to bad.

If you did 12 miles, you got the half marathon.

Take it all in and enjoy the race.

Milestones

by Bostonstrong - 2013-09-02 03:09:34

No milestones are small. Twenty minutes is awesome. I started running about a year and a half ago, running 5 seconds and walking 1minute intervals. Jeff Galloway, a Run Disney consultant, has the training plan on that website. Thanks to a fantastic pulmonologist I got the right meds for my pulmonary issues and started training. I could no more have run 20 minutes then than grown wings and flown to the moon.

You know you're wired when...

You have an excuse for gaining an extra ounce or two.
