Are you sure you're using it? Most of us do not. If you do, ask them to turn it off for your trip.

I'm not sure. My Ep is so annoyed by questions but he mentioned once the rate was set to go down at night.

Why?

Hi Bostonstrong,

Your EP shouldn't annoyed with any kind of question you might have. Don't be intimidated, set up an appointment and find out.

Enjoy your trip to California.

It might be worth the cost of a visit or two with someone else to get your settings right. My insurance still pays if I go out of network, just not as much.

...your health & well-being are more important than the money. This sounds like one of those times. You will be miserable w/ this dork of an EP if you keep it up.

Let me quote for you a bit of Napoleon: " In battle, the mental is to the physical as three is to one." That also applies to medical issues. Go find yourself another EP & pay for it.

...PM if it has a sleep mode programmed "On," will NOT be changed automatically when you move time zones. It is NOT like your cell phone.

Do you have a cy of your print out? That will tell you if it is on.

I asked for one and he didn't give it to me. I think he is annoyed with me because he has so little experience with active patients and getting settings right for distance runners. I get the sense he likes procedures but not having to bother with people once the devices are in. I feel like I'm being a problem patient trying to get settings right for me and my lifestyle. He should have figured I would be a problem when I went running the same evening I had the device implanted.

I had an appt next month but this trip came up. I rescheduled it to see him the week before. Dealing with him is the most stressful part of this whole situation. He doesn't seem to know how to adjust settings for running, which is really important to me. Or care for that matter. He is in network with my insurance and I can't afford to go out of network so it's not a great situation.

Which device do you have?

Sleep mode works different from different manufacturer's. Some are set by time, other's look for a circadian rhythm.
