So how did your big event go? I went to the HOF website and didn't see any pictures from it.
Hope it went well and you survived it. Looking forward to you being back on this site again.
Missed you.

it went so well. Especially after all your hard work.
Sorry to hear you were hurt, but did they get a picture of you doing your acrobatics? That would be something to see.
Happy to have you back.
Kathy
A smashing success!

407 people made it in & Out the doors. Most exciting thing to happen was the fire alarm going off just as the president of our Alum group was about to say his first word to start the Gala off. Had grads there from over 100 different universities/colleges. Came from as far away as California; about 40 from Washington, DC; one from Colorado, & about a dozen or more from cities in the Southeast US about 250 miles away. Oldest attendee was sitting on my left - a grad from Univ of Florida in 1941. somewhere in his mid 90's.
No one moved a muscle to get up & leave when the alarm went off. So much for fire alarms alarming people.
Second most exciting thing was me tripping on a rug just before that, right next to our table. One of my classmates was sitting next to the site of the incident, & as I did a forward roll in formal attire to regain my feet yells out "Don, I'll give you a TEN for style!!!!"
Managed to get through dinner w/o incident, but foot swelled up by the end & I could not walk. They took me out in a wheel chair. Have an injury called a "LisFranc" fracture. Surgery to repair is next Wed.
You will not see any mention of the event on the HOF site. This was a private affair & they do not publicize them in any way. MOF, ours was intentionally the first first private affair held in the place, & did they ever learn a lot about themselves from us.
I will have a disk of photos from our photographer in a week or so & post them in a drop box for anyone interested in seeing what it was like. I think I'm even in one or two.

I am not planning on letting any of this shorten my life. I am planning on living a long happy battery operated life. You never know maybe it will keep me alive longer. I sure know one thing I would have been dead before starting school without it.
