And I'm just venting! BUT my scar is so dry, itchy and it stings and burns. The last several days; any type of material that touches it is very irritating! It's really starting to annoy me! On top of that; after a couple of hours sitting at my desk at work, my left shoulder and neck tend to get stiff. I do get up and walk around but it doesn't really help much. When I get home I tend to feel better becasue I can make myself comfortable. Sorry guys - I'm grumpy today (:

it will pass

eventually, that passes.
but in the mean time...
Aquaphor is a go to for me for all of my scars. It's so soothing and helps the healing process too.
When I went back to work after a surgery, I always had a heating pad for my upper back and neck. You don't realize how much you compensate for the pain and discomfort in your shoulder, and that really helped make sitting at my desk more comfortable. I also kept a small pillow under my arm. The less my arm hung while I was sitting the more comfortable I was.
FEEL BETTER!! =)

I too used a heating pad and still do 6 months later when I over tax my shoulder. I used an antibiotic cream for the itching and healing. The nurse recommended ths and it really helped! At home I put one of those jell packs that you can put in the microwave or freezer depending on what you need it for. It conforms good to just the area you need it. I couldn't do without it. hope that helps.

I don't really have any answers for why you are experiencing such discomfort, but I will send you a BIG HUG... and a bunch of positive energy to help you along... are you doing any stretching exercises? I try to do yoga stretches now and then ( not all the time because I'm just too lazy )...but, I do find that stretching helps ...
hope your day gets better...
ps... I tend to feel better when I get home from work as well... :~)
take care...
Thanks All!

I am learning to deal w/the discomfort! I did put some ointment on my scar last night and this morning. It gave me some relief. Thanks for understanding!

The experience of having a couple of lengths of wire fed into your heart muscle and an electronic 'box' tucked under the skin is not an insignificant event, but you will survive.

Thanks for the big hug! I really need it today. I try to stretch as much as I can. I need to raise the left arm and stretch it but I can't! I know it will be ok.... thanks!
