I'm still on recovery, short term disability pension, with return to work just around the corner. The problem arises in my line of work.Being a welder and back up of QC with NDE tickets, Magnetic Partical Testing in particular, it appears I'll have to change jobs. The whole company is filled with welding machines and possible electronic interferance from other sources.Wondering what I should do? I have possibly another 10 to 12 years that I could work there. What should the return to work restrictions be from the Doctor,or can he outright state no return to work and put me as Long Term Disability case? I'm also wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to approach the company on a possible buy-out package?
In my case ,I'm almost ready for early pension and I guess a possible Government pension (both early retirement and disability). I still believe I can work in some other field of work, whether it be FT or PT. Anybody else have similar experiances or suggestions? I live in Ontario, Canada, so the help should be from same. With many thanks for any information.

Astroboy...depends on the type of pacemaker. What type do you have? St Judes, etc?
Typically using welding equipment or being around electrical machinery doesn't bother a modern pacemaker...they did in the early models so long ago...these days...no.
