In the next couple of weeks I should be up dating my Pacemaker from a two wire to a CRT------ I am 76 years old I have CHF and Av-Node ablation people have been talking about a CRT-D but since I have a Av- Node ablation I thought I would be getting a CRT-P------------------------Do I need a CRT-D ? Thanks

The D stands for a defibrillator also. They add that if you are at risk to go into a dangerously fast rhythm. If they are only trying to get your heart faster and in sync, they may decide to just use the pacemaker but usually they automatically do the defib with a crt. Ask our dr why he decided on one vs the other.

Hi! Vinnie, We all have questions even though some members have been dealing with heart/device issues for many years. Heart treatment/advancement is constantly on the move, so even seasoned patients have questions. Ask questions anytime.
