PACEMAKER

In the next couple of weeks I should be up dating my Pacemaker from a two wire to a CRT------ I am 76 years old I have CHF and Av-Node ablation people have been talking about a CRT-D but since I have a Av- Node ablation I thought I would be getting a CRT-P------------------------Do I need a CRT-D ? Thanks

Thanks for your input-----I guess I just have to wait and see--------I'm not a computer buff so I still finding my way around this site---- plus I type slow and with one finger

The D stands for a defibrillator also. They add that if you are at risk to go into a dangerously fast rhythm. If they are only trying to get your heart faster and in sync, they may decide to just use the pacemaker but usually they automatically do the defib with a crt. Ask our dr why he decided on one vs the other.
