blood pressure and cholesterol

are there different standards for blood pressure and cholesterol for patients with a pacemaker?

Hi! Perhaps, while your care did not make it clear, the concern is not related to the actual device but the reason for you needing one. Also, are you taking medications that can effect the two? Take care and please discuss with your medical care. Hopeful Heart

Same standards as everyone else, but they watch us more closely and we have more at stake if we get too high since we already have other problems.

I am not on any medication at all. i have a pm because of sick sinus syndrome, an electrical problem.

My gp keeps insisting that my blood pressure, which is fine, and my cholesterol which is also fine, should be closely monitored now that I have a pm. I wondered what the deal was.
