Need 2nd opinion - desperate!

How do I find another dr. for complications after getting a pacer? I have terrible pain more than 3 months later and my dr. says he's never seen this and he has nothing more to offer. For more info, you can see my earlier question under complications. Thanks.

It doesn't state in your profile where you live? That may help some members to recommend a Doctor for you in your area.

finding a dr

I'd start by asking the dr who said he doesn't know what to do next, say, well if you were me what would you do? Or ask your gp. Or ask friends if they have a dr they like. Do you have any friends who are drs? That's how I found my current cardiologist, who I adore. A friend who's an anesthesiologist went to med school with him and works with him in the OR. He said that's who he'd go to so that's where I went and I never looked back.

I would contact the nearest hospital-- even though its far away and speak to someone in the cardio dept. You can call the head of the cardio dept and go from there. I live where I have several hospitals in my area and its still hard to someone good. I usually go by friends references.

DR.

I am not familiar with that area of the country but I googled "heart facilities near Rocky Mtn." and came up with a few.

Jax's suggestion was good...try a hospital, or like Tracey said, your GP or any other Doctor you may have that can recommend someone.

I hope you get some answers, keep in touch.

I'm not real sure how this site is supposed to work, but would be glad to "chat" with someone who has had complications resolved.

I live in the Rockie Mountain area, far from large med facilities so I will try to go wherever in the western states I can find someone to see soon and who is willing to seek out answers. I've already been hung out to dry by the cardio and my gp. But I know something is very wrong.

Interestingly, I have done all that, except ask my cardio. A family friend (dr.) is supposed to be finding help for me, but isn't coming thru for me. I feel like I'm on my own and getting worse. I need to know what to ask other clinics so I can get the best this time.

Rockie?

I don't know why I typed "Rockie." I know it is Rocky Mountain area.

ELECTROPHYSIOLOGIST

FIND AN ELECTROPHYSIOLOGIST AND GET HIM/HER TO CHECK YOU OUT .A CARDIOLOGIST IS NOT THE SAME .TRUST ME .I HAD TO HAVE A FOLLOW-UP OPERATION TO DISCOVER THIS .!!!
