Brilliant News

I had suffered heart failure from 2008 after a bad dose of Flue, my Doctor had treated me for Asthma for 8 months, I had a dry cough and felt dreadful, Once diagnosed the Nhs could not have been better, I had a number of cardioversions, 2 Ablations and so many visits to A&e too much to count, my heart was working at 20% apparently the normal heart works at 54%. 2 years ago I started collapsing without warning, I was offered another ablation or a Pacemaker, I opted for a pacemaker, I was given a three lead last June, since I have not suffered any Af and today I was told my heart is classed as normal and has healed, I am posting this to hopefully give hope, I was very symptomatic and felt very unsure of my future and wondered if I had one! Before being given a pm in the initial years I could hardly walk and spent nights in fear because of Af, I was treated at Glan Clwyd Hospital by Dr Waterfield and then referred to Dr Snowdon at Liverpool Chest and Heart Hospital, Broadgreen, my current Gp has also been brilliant. I cannot thank the NHS and these Brilliant consultants.

I was told the Pm would not make any difference to Af but would stop me passing out, since having my pm 13 months ago I have not had any AF.

do you feel your pm/df do nightly tests???

by Gigi - 2014-07-19 09:07:19

I was told that every night at 3am my machine sends a signal to the clinic. I have noticed that each night at 130am 2am and 230am my defibrilater puts out some impulses like it is doing a test. It feels like a finger flicking inside my heart, and I get a sensation like my blood pressure suddenly changes...like when you are on a rollercoaster and you feel your stomache go into your chest only this feeling is just in my chest only. Does anyone else feel these test impulses and how frequently do you feel them? What exactly is it doing that it needs to do it three times per night???

You know you're wired when...

You have a shocking personality.
