Open Heart Surgery Tuesday

as mentioned in prior post but the thing I forgot to ask was is there anything that anyone needs to be aware of regarding my PM. it's going to be an Open Proceedure--Heart Lung machine and all. Dr. knows I already have a PM but is there anything that needs to take place or settings etc. or will they take care of all that (I know they should)

..................sorry that I cannot give you any info re the PM..but I can send out my support to you over there in Utah....8 years ago I too had OHS here in the UK....advise...??

Relax..keep all those round you aware of your feelings..and ask them about theirs...it IS a tough time...get a bit of a plan for how you will pass your time when you get back home.

I kept a diary/journal when in hospital...it gave me a sense of having some control, when really I just sat there , waiting/being fed/not sleeping/being bored......later you can read your journal at home and remember all the tiny moments that, at the time, were poignant/funny/scary..

In hospital they fix you......at home you get better...don't rush things..take some morning exercise..maybe a bit of a walk...then take a rest and read or listen to music or watch tv..

Anybody around you will now, officially be your servant..play the OHS card to the limit..it wont happen again..

Your loved ones are , right now,..scared..and they will be holding their feelings back..thats fine.

It will be just fine...get on top of coughing..v important.

I will be thinking of you on Tuesday

Cox Maze procedure. I can't have the minimally invasive procedure because I've had prior OHS for ASD. They are hoping that this will fix my Afib episodes.
