Monday I go in for a PM! Little scared but he said I would feel SOOO much better!! Bring it on! I guess!! I guess that's what I get for my month long Monitor! I'm still in Afib as well but they can't give me any more drugs to treat that until the PM because the Rhythmol is already decreasing my heart rate too much. as far as ablating he said he really couldn't do that because of the heart surgery I had when I was 25 to repair ASD --he doesn't want to go thru to the other side of heart where he thinks the problem is.

I did mine 3 days ago and it still fresh in my mind, I almost brought the farm and I feel so much better. It like day and night . In my case I had little pain from it so I certainly hope it will be the same for you. Best of good luck.
Day 4 Watereded my Garden
by Bobdeham - 2014-04-05 02:04:33
I watered my seeding this morning in my garden and the DR right as I felt the different when I woke up.. There some discomfort above my left breast area where the PM is. The pain is maybe 3 on a scale of 10. Easy to handle are it much less than the yellow jacket that scored my left hand a couple of years back. That hurt or did that hurt. The only issue and this is a minor one that for whatever strange reason I reacted to the tape over the PM. It was clear and look like the stuff we wrap package with. Since my wife had by-pass a couple years back I no problem changing it out to a big knee pad bandage and the rash had stopped. You are going to feel much better and I hope your trip though this is as easy as mine. Have a great day.
The most exciting thing

is that I'm looking forward to feeling better! apparently my dr. did not quite expect to see the things he saw on the report. and said that it would be like night and day the way I feel. so I'm really looking forward to it. I understand there are issues that you can have and I'm sure I've got a mountain of questions to ask --I knew I might need it eventually but I didn't expect it so fast. and I don't even know where to begin with the questions ha! but ... thanks for the kind words and dizzy-I will be sure to ask for ice when I get out of the procedure--thank you. You guys have stuck with me thru this last year when I wasn't even sure I "belonged" on this forum and I guess now I've kinda graduated ha I'm just glad I got the answers and moving forward! oh and 1 more thing ha--no more acting like i'm "drunk" without having anything to show for it haha! (I don't drink anyway)
Good luck

I'm ready for it! The dr. said it would be night and day difference! I'm trying to deep clean my kitchen today and not getting much done without having to stop and sit down very frequently as my HR is not cooperating --running in the high 40's to low 50's so I'm sure this will be a significant improvement!!
Good luck!

Hi Kmom,
I wish you lots of luck with your surgery tomorrow! I'm sure everything will go just fine. You said you have been in this group for a year now, so you already know so much and have got lots of good advice and that will help you through it. I did not find this site until after my implant but it still helped a lot. I had no idea what to expect but have learned so much and am doing really well. Tomorrow will be 7 weeks for me.
Since you have not felt well for some time I can only imagine how much better you will feel especially in a few weeks as you recover. This was not the case with me because I felt fine before and had no symptoms whatsoever (except for fainting twice in one night for no reason) and since I have heart block my cardiologist told me I would probably feel no different than before but at least my PM will take care of me and I don't have to worry about it and no more fainting spells!
I'm sure you are looking forward to finally being able to do things you weren't able to do before and it will be so nice when you can have some fun with your family for a change. That will be a great feeling for sure!
Take care!
~Sheila

At age 20, I will be getting a pacemaker in few weeks along with an SA node ablation. This opportunity may change a five year prognosis into a normal life span! I look forward to being a little old lady with a wicked cane!
good luck
