I had my first PM implant on 4/4/13. Due to an anomoly it had to be implanted on right side instead of left. My Pacer clinic is scheduled for 5/18/13 . After reading others comments, I'm wondering why my Pacer clinic is scheduled so late after surgery. Should I call my cardio dr and question this? Does my PM not need monitoring until then? Thx for your info and help.

No two drs are alike but 4-6 weeks is common. If you have any problems before then call them.

Thank you for your insightful comments. Gave me a little giggle for today! Yes, I'm grateful for my therapists and am trying very hard to "get back to normal". I think from now on when I feel a "zip, zing or zap", I will think of them as having a silent partner encouraging me to be strong. I'm really thankful to be alive and look forward to many productive years in my retirement.

Thank you for your response to my concern about the scheduling of my Pacer Clinic. This helps ease my mind! I had noticed that some patients were going to Pacer clinics around one week after implantation. I had some complications & was in hospital for 12 days so was concerned about the long wait! I was bedridden all this time & lost much stamina. Am receiving physical & occupational therapy and starting to feel stronger each day. So thankful to have discovered this website for fellow PM recepients as we all need morale support.
