Racing Heart

Hi, I am a concerned daughter of a mother with a Pm-Icd. She has been having problems with her heart racing after she eats, or atleast that is when she believes it starts. She can not get comfortable because of this. It drives her crazy! So my question is, is this unusal or a common accurance she is having? Does anyone else have this same problem since getting the device?

I would check with her doctor. This isn't common and there may be a simple fix.

Hi, I had the same problem which started around the same time as my heart problem. Immediately after eating or even during eating I used to get palpitations & a racing heartbeat. I have for years eaten very spicy food & a lot of rich tomato based sauces but I can no longer eat them. I take 15g of lansoprazole 30 minutes before breakfast & then again before my evening meal. Other things I do to ease the problem is to raise the head of my bed 3 or 4 inches higher than the bottom, never lay down after eating & never eat within 3 hours of going to bed. By doing this I have stopped all the palpitations & racing heart at meal times. It just takes a bit of adjustment. Google will yield that this is not an uncommon problem but it is easily manageable.
