new to PM

Hi,
I am 54 and I am new to PM world. I have a genetic heart disease, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. I ended up in ER in California on March 20, 2013 and I got a pacemaker that day. I am recovering now. I have more energy than before and hoping to feel better soon.

Welcome zinat,

I too have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. I am 27 and had no symptoms prior to having the ICD put in. Glad to hear you are recovering well and that your energy is rising. There will be days that the energy level will probably go up and down until you get fully used to it, but always good to be feeling better! If you have any children, have you scheduled your family for genetic testing?

we share the same PM date

Hi,

I am so sorry about your dislodgement, I hope everything will be all right. I always tie my left hand to my body when I sleep, so I don't move my left arm above my head, It is very hard, but I had to be very careful not to use my left arm, even I am left handed. My doctor specifically told me not to raise my left hand above my head, so the leads don't move in my heart, which is very hard to do when I work.
wish you well.
