About 8 or 9 days ago, I posted a message about my 88 year old mother who was being denied a pacemaker since the hospital was telling her that Medicare does not pay for pacemakers. Through highly valuable advice I received here, I learned that Medicare does pay for pacemakers and I was able to get the hospital to put in a pacemaker for my mother. Thank you all for your kind assistance!
I also posted a message asking about the usual recovery time after surgery and pacemaker adjustments and received great advice. Thank you all so much for the advise!
Thank you Mz.A for your kind words, thoughts and prayers! And thank you TraceyE, Donr, Smitty, janetinak, kcruz, Zia and AngrySparrow for your kind help!
My mother is now in a skilled nursing facility - will be there for about 3 weeks due to problems related to chemotherapy - but she has recovered well from the surgery and the pacemaker is working great! Thank you once again to everyone for your kind advice and support. I don't think I could have helped my mother without your valuable advice. Thank you!!!! Thank you!!!!! ....and Thank you!!!! Tom

But I think it will make me feel a lot better. My stamina to walk is already better, even right after surgery. They had me walk all around the floor before they would release me. I did so without being exhausted and winded the way I had been.
Hope all goes well with your Mom
