Does anybody know if a Merlin monitor can be converted from land-line usage to cell? The Merlin is the only reason I am keeping my land line. I appreciate any and all answers.

I have a cell phone adapter for Merlin

I have a Merlin and I got it about 10 days ago. I ordered a cell phone adapter for it and it arrived today---I don't have a land line---and it worked perfectly. It plugs into the usb port on the Merlin, which on my unit is on the right side and covered with a flap. The adapter and cell phone service cost $16.99/month and there is a 3 year contract. That's cheaper for me than getting a land line and I can move the monitor from one place to another without worrying about land lines. The phone number to order the cell phone adapter is 877-300-3606. I'm getting that number off of the invoice that came with the adapter today. I didn't keep the number I got from my cardiologist's nurse, but I assume they are one and the same.
bye and good luck

I went to the device tech Thursday and asked him if it can be used that way, he told me unfortunately no it cant. I have not seen it ever activated since the original installation. The tech told me the unit may do a "drive by" and check the pm. If it sees any trouble it will call out or if your battery is low etc. My 1st "At home" test is scheduled way out in June. He said it will try at midnight, then every hour for about 3 hours. It then will send ekg info condition etc. If you hear anything different let me know.
