I'm 57 years old and on 2/14/13 had to have a P/M put in. My cardiologist and I have been watching this for two years and all the EKG's I had said I was not ready for a P/M. I did pass out last April and one year before that because my heart rate dropped. On 2/14/13 my heart rate dropped to 38 but my BP stayed normal. I did not pass out this time. As a matter of fact, the emergency room doctor and the four cardiologist in my doctor's practice could not believe that my BP stayed normal with a heart rate of 38. All they said was that I have a strong heart. I am very active in that I lift weights and play softball. The P/M is a on demand P/M, but when I walk acrosss a parking lot or through my warehouse, I get a pain in the middle of my chest. Around the sternum. I did not take any pain medicine after the surgery and went to work the following Monday for one half days. I'm just wondering if anyone has experience the same thing, plus how long did you have to wait after surgery to get back working out and playing softball if you play ball. Also, did you see a drop off in your physical acyitivity, or a increase. Thanks

Very low HR

When I initially developed AV Block my Hr dropped to 40 and then went down around 26 before I had the pacer implanted. I was still able to stand and walk without passing out and my BP was in the normal range for me. If we are in good shape when it happens our bodies do an amazing job of adapting. That doesn't keep us from being affected if things are allow to continue that way though.

I have mine in now for 2 and a half years. I had a similar pain in my chest allso. It went away after awhile . I think mine was from stress and anxiety. It was along struggle to get back on track. I have SSS sick sinous syndrome. They told me to take it easy for the first few months. It takes awhile for it to stop moving around and hurting tissue. I call it making its nest. So dont over do it and see your Dr. with all your concerns. It takes time is all and we are all differant healers. Good luck this too shall pass
