I have just read this with great interest. Does anyone have any more information about this? Gives me great hope for my sons next pacemaker.

That was a terrific article. Thank you for sharing it with us. I hope your son will have it available to him soon and I hope it's available when I need my first replacement, too!

the future

Who knows where technology will be when our pm's need replaced but as of now, this is not an option for most of us. I'll see if I can find the article I read with more information. It said that they're not compatible with existing leads and they are single chamber only. Most of us have dual. However, that doesn't mean it's not exciting news! They are also working on one that recharges from our activity. Kind of cool. How wonderful would it be if they could do both, get rid of the leads with a self-charging battery?!

not yet for the children

The wireless pacemakers are currently unsuitable for the children. They are still in the trial stage and they have to evaluate the long term effects. But it is something that may be available in some years down the line.

I'm wondering if it can be hacked?

A tiny device that you would just swallow and it would somehow attach to your heart.

Sounds far fetched but who knows?? Maybe just a matter of time!
