survey about experiences with pacemakers, ICDs

Hi everyone,

As I mentioned in one of my earlier postings, I was planning to designe a short survey for my study, and here it is! http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/W36NF9Z

In brief, it is a pilot project on the ways in which people with non-organic cardiac implants, specifically pacemakers, ICDs, etc. think about their implants, bodies, health, and over all wellbeing. The goal is to find out how people of different gender and age groups and from different cultures experience having an implant. I believe that the results of the survey help people understand the major changes in people’s daily experiences brought by medical technology.

I will post the summarized results on this forum. I hope it will be interesting for you to learn that.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR RESPONSES ARE COMPLETELY ANONYMOUS

I highly appreciate your help and your time!

I will also appreciate any comments on the survey. What did you think about questions and answer options, etc.

Per chance I am showing my ignorance but this was my experience:
Copied the link to my browser but only got to their homepage.
You have to sign up.
Had a look around and this is what I found.:

How do I send my survey to respondents, or get responses to my survey?

To get your survey to your respondents, you'll want to use a collector. A collector is simply a means to collect responses. ...

SurveyMonkey offers an array of these methods to reach your survey respondents. You could post your survey on a Facebook wall; email out invitations, or even embed it on your company website to get responses.

Respondents’ answers are saved and submitted to SurveyMonkey as they click "Next" or "Done" within the survey; and you can view your results in real time on the Analyze Results page.

try again

Hi shirley d, I'm not sure why you are not able to access the survey through the link. I've just checked it right now and it works. May be try again:

If it still doesn't work for you I can send you an email invitation, just send me your address via private messages.

Thank you for your participation!!

Any feedbacks?

Thank you everyone who completed the survey! It's really helpful in understanding the issue of technology and health!

If you did not participate yet - I would really appreciate if you do. The more people complete the survey - the more statistically precise results we will get. I think it will be a good complementary source of knowledge in addition to polls that the PMC has.

If you did fill out the survey - can you give me any feedbacks? Were the questions clear? Anything important that I've missed?

Thanks for all your time!

How long and stuff

does the survey go on for? Months, years?
#2 required an answer checked BUT 'other' was filled in
#3 what if no family members involved?
#5 have you heard the word 'temporary?' Like temporary depression or temporary anxiety or temporary pain?

Oh yeah: the survey will be stopped on Wed April 24

Thanks, mrag, I should have posted this info a bit earlier.
Since this is a pilot project - I will stop collecting the results after Apr 24, 2013.

Yeah I am aware of the question#2 and tried to fix it, but at this stage of the project I cannot do anything about it.

In question#3 if no family members involved you can always check "strongly disagree" or "undecided"

Thank you for participating!
Will post the results soon))
