Travel Insurance

Hi - Has anyone been refused travel insurance due to having a pacemaker. Can anyone recommend a good deal on travel insurance for persons with pacemakers?

I see you have had your implant recently...in 2013. You may find that some companies charge an extra premium if you have had any op in the last 12 months. Shop around !

"Which" magazine does good comparisons from time to time on travel insurance; there are also the comparison websites of course.

I have annual travel insurance via my bank RBS [80% your bank too I guess!] it comes with my Royalties account and when I had my pacemaker put in I delcared it and they upped the premium to £120 per a year for both my wife and I combined. We are both 70 plus too now so that is pretty good as we travel to Australia to visit No1 son.

Have a look at what your bank offers especially if you have been with them a long time.

Hi Jen12,
Never been refused insurance, I have a defibrillator fitted and always answer all questions, there are companies who cater for people with pre-existing medical conditions
Have had good quotes from www.allclearoptions,
Most recent insurance for 12 month worldwide cover was a little over £135.
Good luck with your quotes.
