Hello I am new here

Just a quick hello as I am new here so thought I would tell you a little bit about me. I Have a pacemaker and my first pacemaker which was an external one was hooked up on December 6, 1967. It was done under a local so I could hear and see everything that was going on. I was also having a cut down with an IV tubing inserted on the opposite arm as the pacer lead was inserted on the right side. This was done to increase my heartrate from 20 to 60 so I would have a better chance of surviving open chest surgery the next day. December 7, 1967 I had my first permanent pacemaker implanted which I rejected for a year after that...but over 45 years later I am still here....

Welcome to the forum, sonds like someone who would have a lot of advice for those just getting a little friend. Right glad your here, stick around read the comments, answer questions, and met the deverse group of people making up this forum. I'm new at this only got my little BS on 9/12/12. I had, for about 20 years tacky controlled by meds, the last 10 years more meds, than I got bracky, down to 30 & 20 at night didn't know I had a problem thought it was just getting old, heck it was denial, knew I had a problem. Them AVblock joined the group and brought COPD and CHF for the party. I'm doing good now and enjoying this club hope you do to. Sorry to be so long winded, glad you joined. Blessings Jean

Thank You

Thanks ladies, yes I have been through alot over the 45 years but would not change a thing. I have learned many lessons from it all, it made me a better paramedic and EKG tech.

You know you're wired when...

Your pacemaker interferes with your electronic scale.
