Help!!!! My cat wont come in my room now!

I hope someone can help me and quickly! Ok....we got a 21/2 year old cat, as sweet as can be, about 3 weeks prior to my RE-implant of a new pacemaker. Its a new , German made "BIOTRONIK" ... It comes with this "monitor" that your supposed to keep next to your bed & at least 6" away and not more than 6 feet away.
...OK my problem is this...my new cat gives me hope and love and she slept next to me for most of those 3 weeks! (I have long term h-o abuse etc and after never being "able" to allw myself an animal, i finally got "Luna"! But...since Ive come home with my new "MONITOR" in our bedroom....SHE WONT COME IN OUR ROOM at all and sleeps on the floor in the hall outside of our room. Its really saddening me ...it may be nothing much to some but its something that is huge for me! Could that monitor be sending some kind of noise or signal that i cannot hear? We experimented & unplugged it and used a paper bag to get her to try again....so the monitor was "off" and she came in & when my hubby turned it back "ON" she crouched inside that bag (she likes to play in paper grocery bags..lol)...& then she darted out of the room to the living room and hid with one eye peeking out of her little cat cubicle! We moved it to hubbys side of the bed and she still wont come in... Im sad because nobody told me i was being "saddled" (sort of) with a monitor along with the pacemaker! I feel like a prisoner!.... Any suggestions??? Anyone else have this happen? ...and if someone else has had an animal behave like this, then maybe Im helping them too...thank you ..,Suzy

Sorry

Hi Jewelrymkr1,

Sorry to hear this, I love my two kitties (my husband too), I remember when I came home from the hospital how happy they were to see me.

Animals are very perseptive, I wonder if there is some vibration they are picking up on.

I seem to recall one of the members here mentioned that when her ICD goes off, her cat will jump off her lap immedately, you might want to check in with AngrySparrow on this one, because I think it was her.

I hope you get this resolved soon.

Monitor sounds

Some electronic power supplies emit a very high pitch squeal that can cause problems for animals. Their hearing extends well beyond ours. The sound can be very loud for them.

Mmmmm? I wonder if I can use the device to stop a neighbours cat using our garden as its toilet! :) I'm half kidding!!!

Cat deterents

They sell devices that are supposed to chase off cats and stop dogs from barking, but I've never heard of anyone having any luck with them.

I have a cat solution. I have the spark coil that was used in the old Model T Fords. Just connect a battery to it and it starts buzzing and puts out a 10,000 volt spark. The current is low enough it isn't dangerous, but I used to hook it up like an electric fence with wires laying where the cats did their thing. Quite a surprise to a cat using my yard as a toilet. They never came back.

I bet they didn't!! That did make me smile.

You know you're wired when...

The meaning of personal computer is taken a step further.

The experience of having a couple of lengths of wire fed into your heart muscle and an electronic 'box' tucked under the skin is not an insignificant event, but you will survive.
