Biotronik

Anyone have a Biotronik pacmaker? I just got one and it came with a monitor for 24-7! The dr can turn on a yellow light that says for me to call him.....or the green light means "all is well"! I must be near it at 1:00am each night for it to go through. Anyone e have this? Hans, suzanne

Got one

I got my Biotronik 9-2-12 and really like. My understanding is if you are not around at the time it will pick it up later. I was concerned about travel. They said don’t worry if you are out of town for a few days it will pick up the info when you get back. They also said if you are out of town for an extender period you can take it along and hook it up to any phone any time of day and stand by the unit for just a few seconds it will transmit your information.

When they did the first check of my PM, which they do quarterly, it was done at night and I didn’t need to do anything. Using others types you need to put transmitters on you writs and call in. I like this because you don’t have to do anything but enjoy your new life with your PM. I got my Biotronik at the Cleveland so if they are using it must be a good unit.

I've had a Biotronik for over two years. The bedside unit sends information to the data center which emails your doctor a report. The transmitter can collect the same information as an interrogation at the doctor's office. I am 100% paced but only visit the doctor's office once a year unless something unusual comes up.

When I first got the pacemaker, I was always aware of the monitor. Now I forget about it unless I knock it over or I'm dusting. It is a great way of keeping the doctor in the loop without needing to go into the office. I really like the convenience.

by Jewelrymkr1 - 2013-02-24 04:02:31

One more question that I have is ...why would a dr choose this one over one just the same as i had before....the Medtronic Kappa DR 900?? It worked great or 10 yrs.! Thank you , Suzy

I also have a Biotronik and machine. I like the fact that its there and downloads every night. I just got my pm 01/09/2013 and it makes me feel better to have it.

THANK YOU ALL so much for your kindness. Now, I'm wondering if I will only see my Dr. once per year? I have Atrial fib and Dysautonomia/POTS/NCS, Sick Sinus Syndrome and Long QT syndrome (also: MVP, TVP and Pul Valve HTN)....but he's my ONLY Cardiologist now. I had a heart cath from HELL last year and quit my gen. cardiologist of 22 years as he let his newbie work on me! I have many complicated issues such as chronic pain , RSD/CRPS, other issues w/pain and R.A. too and from a car accident in 2002, a heart attack in 2005 and a CVA in 2006! ...so why he let his newbie do my cath??? I don't understand. ?? I begged him...he assured me that he'd tell the guy everything...They were "googling RSD" as I was on the guerney...I was 100% awake during whole thing and it was done in my wrist and i screaming the whole time...it is a nightmare ..you can read my blog about that day at : www.youNmeandacuppatea.blogspot.com just look for the post called "the Heart Cath from Hell"..LOL.. thank you again...and re: the multiple pictures...I got goofed up and put up the same one several times by accident...i have suffered an MTBI from that car accident and forgot several times..that Id done it...ha ha....

ANNNNDDDD....
Ive been just passing it off to being the new & different pacemaker...I got a Biotronik pmkr this time! But i got it in February 2013 ( its my 2nd one)....ten yrs ago i felt much better after receiving my pmkr....this time its now 5 mos later and im always tired....i feel slightly nauseated, i fall asleep or ???something??? ...Ive got Dysautonomia /POTS/NCS & I used to have syncope . Now...post-op... Ive "collapsed" or fainted a couple times and feel exhausted afterwards and for days!!! My husband has tried to "wake me" and calls my name over and over again until he yells and finally i awaken totally exhausted and unaware that I was totally OUT! Soooo I've waited and kept track of it for the most part! I figured if anything big was wrong, wouldn't they call me?? Because I have the cardio monitor!????? Ive felt pre-syncope at lest 3 times daily and i was doing great for the whole ten years with my old pacemaker...a Medtronic!i. But now i feel awful and I was trying to give myself time...before i complain again (i complained about -a month post op in March or so and they tweaked my pmkr and told me "this kind takes awhile to get to know your body".... So i have waited but feel terrible! P.S.- it took me an hour to write this note because I kept Falling asleep or whatever!,,I've spilled hot tea on myself!!!! Ive written a letter and mailed it about 2 weeks ago to my Pmkr Dr's office physicians asst. to get an Appt. no ones called yet...I'm calling on the phone tmw.....anyone got any ideas? I do have already "full body RSD/CRPS ND SOME THINGS LIKE CHRONIC PAIN FOM A MVA. In 2002! Ive got deg disk disease, and I've been told by 3 drs now that i Have FMS also.....i tried to refuse to believe it...but I'm starting to believe it and could it possibly be CFS? I feel so deeply deeply tired ad they did a special internal "wash" during surgery.."of "Bipvucaine" to help the RSD/CRPS NOT TO SPREAD THERE TOO! But its there too!....just any ideas would help...thank you so much....& yes, Im calling tmw because nobody called after my sending that letter 2 weeks ago or so! Ps....i have atrial fib and I'm on Coumadin.
With loads of TLC to you all,
Suzy
