Hello, i have a question... Has anyone here had to have a device implanted inside of the pectoral muscle? Well I had, and it was in there for 10 yrs., just about! My Drs have told me that my pectoral muscle needed a plastic surgeon to rebuild the muscle! She happened to be in surgery together with my Dr......
I'm just wondering is this the reason that its hurting so much on this 5 th day after my surgery??? Thank you ..suzanne

Probably that is what you are feeling, yes! Mine isn't between the pectorals, but under the breast so it's different but probably just as deep. When I had my last replacement (4th), a plastic surgeon cleaned up the scar tissue and rebuilt the pocket. I also got a new lead that was run from a different vein, so lots of digging in there. I was pretty sore for about 2 weeks. Not bad enough to take more than advil, but I didn't feel up to doing much either. It was about 8 weeks until I could bend/twist in any direction without feeling the twinge.
You know you're wired when...
You prefer rechargeable batteries.

Subpectoral placement

Hi!
I have mine between the pectoralis major and minor. They cut through the major, and stitched the pacer to the pectoralis minor. Had it placed under the skin twice before, and then under the muscle four times, and I must say that the subpectoral placement always hurt much more than the subcutaeneous. For me it's easy to imagine that it hurts more when they need to cut into a muscle than if they just make a pocket under the skin. Nevertheless, I prefer the subpectoral placement, and just take more painkillers for the first couple of days.
Hope you feel better soon!
