I am now up to Day 5 with my new and first PM. Boston Scientific. By the way, who else has a Boston? I just painted my fingernails and noticed that for the first time for I don't know how long my hands weren't shaking. Also out walking yesterday my balance seemed much improved. Now this really is a girlie question. Other than with help from another person, how do other women go putting a bra on when supposedly only doing gentle movements with the left arm? Not wearing one is not a good look for me. LOL. How to define "gentle movements". Of course I am not lifting anything or raising my arm above shoulder height but I want to try and find the balance between being an inactive sloth and "doing too much". Last night I woke up in a bit of pain, I had gone to sleep on my right side (PM implanted left side) and it felt like a heavy weight was hanging off the wound area. Settled down when I slept on my back and feel OK now. It seems like clothing just buttoned down the front is the choice for the next 6 weeks eh? Have a nice day everyone. Patricia.

ok I'm a hick. lol. I had my daughter hook my regular ba on me. I wear a bali underwire., and I folded a soft fuzzy so sock between my bra and my icd!! then after it felt normal again I put the sock on my foot again. lol. I had a new icd, my 2nd done on 11/28 two mths ago and I'm ok now with my regular bra, the strap don't bother me any more. Bras are way expensive now, wearing my old faith ful here. I've heard great things about Walcola,s But, at Macys they start at $$$65.00., that's a chunk of change if you ask me. and for sleeping! I agree with other lady sleeping on non pacer site hugging a pillow to keep it in place for like two weeks or more. I hate sleeping on my back even after two months. Oh yeah I have back hooking bra I hooked in front and slid them to the back gently also. I skiiped the bra for a while, the pushing up hurt me, but bouncey boobs hurt too.
oh love a laugh

Braless has always worked for me ( in fact I think it should be compulsory ! )

Underwire caution

I hope that underwire doesn't make contact with the ICD. That could be an interesting route to shock.

I went without for a few weeks. Should be noted that I was wearing a back brace during some of that time, though, so that added some support. I also have mostly front clasp wireless bras (Warner's brand), but since I have decent flexibility in my shoulders (as in, I can put sunscreen anywhere on my back I want to by myself), I was able to put on a bra relying mostly on my right arm, and without raising my left arm above my shoulder. Of course, it took longer than normal, since I had to be more careful. And yes, I came to appreciate the functionality of button-down tops.
You know you're wired when...
You invested in the Energizer battery company.

Hi! Patricia, On my second ICD. Braless does not work for me either. One a little larger than usual, with front closure, works well for me during recovery. You get support to avoid the pulling discomfort of no support. Also, you can lessen the tension of the strap on the device side or just let it drop if necessary. I find I heal better lying on my back for awhile, as lying on the device side puts direct pressure, and lying on the opposite side, causes pulling. Hope this helps. Take care. Hopeful Heart
