Well i posted a few weeks ago asking if id ever be able to ride my horses again, Today i got on my quiet mare and rode up the track! It was amazing i felt so normal again, i know in only 5 weeks post op, but i feel great, all soreness has gone and although i wont be riding properly for a while, at least i know i can.
i didn't realise something so small seemed like a great achievement as i really had started to convince myself i couldn't take the risk.so im going to get a suitable body protector and i have an air jacket, so any falls should be well protected. Hopefully Il never fall off.
just wanted to post to say your life is not over just because you've had a pacemaker.

Today was a lovely day! It really was nice to forget about having a pacemaker and made me realise that i have to forget about it and do the things i enjoy. My mare is name fi, and is one in a million.
when i first had my pm i thought id never do the things i used to do, as you feel so helpless. But now i realise its not the end of the world! Got to sort my own fitness out now although i cant see me running lol.
Amen to that

Your pacemaker is there to make your life better, not worse. Mine will be 3 years old next week and life has never been better for me. I hope everyone who comes to this site gets that message, if no other.!!
You know you're wired when...

Since I got my pacemaker, I don't pass out anymore! That's a blessing in itself.

...........................what a great posting !..now I dont know where you are in the UK,..but today was a blissfull day for the time of year,..and though I am not a 'horsey' person, know loads, with all manner of Nags.
It must have been a wonderful experience to get on board again ...I only got back to running a few days ago after a box rip-out and RH-shoulder new kit.
Just back from running club this evening, and really enjoyed a 3 mile Ramp-Up run that went from a steady 150 bpm up to a very satisfactory 178 bpm..best bit was that the old ticker was back down to 119 in about two minutes.
Enjoy that maddening little intruder that makes your life so much better................'Nipper'..is a great name for a Pacemaker!!
Can we know the name of your chosen 'Quiet Mare'..?
Could P Message if you want
Good Story
