lifting/horses

Hi in sorry to asking so many questions. I understand that i have to wait 6-8 weeks before i can start getting back to normal,(had my pm 1 week)
Im 43 with horses, and would like to know of Il be ok to push a heavy wheel barrow full of manure, once the taking it easy period is over. Or do you always have to be carefull.
also does anyone with a pm have horses and still ride, or is it too risky incase you have a fall. They are a big part of my life and i just want to do the normal things i used to do.

thank you

Thank you, to be honest its my shoulder that seems to be giving me more problem than where the actually pm was put in. Prob from not using my arm fully for a week. I guess i will have to see how i feel once fully healed, just getting very impatient at feeling so helpless. Im used to being busy and doing physical jobs, so and counting down the days until the pm should be secured in and i can get back to some kind of normality.

thank you

I should think anyone...

`...moving a heavy wheelbarrow load of horse manure would be careful.

I cannot imagine pushing it over rough terrain, tripping & doing a face plant in the full barrow.

OOOOOOOOOOH!

I have had a pacemaker since 1997 I am on my second one installed in 2005. Both times I went back to riding. I use my horse's for barrel racing, team roping, cowboy mounted shooting & ride alot. I have never had any problem. I have thought that a safety vest or one of the new shirts with the pacemaker protector might be a good idea. I have tried to not let having a pacemaker slow me down. Make sure you talk it over with your Doctor & are healed up before you start back up. Good luck & enjoy that horse!

are wonderful animals, if they are yours and you care for them and ride them regular you know their temperment so you know which ones you are safe with to start riding again. They are good to be around some of them are big softees, and are great to calm a person down, others just catch the nerves from you and tense right up. Get your ok from the doc before riding, if he/she is a horse person no problem. If they are a part of your life keep them in it. Lucky you. Jean
