Happy 4th of July

To all you good people out there, a friendly shout out and HAPPY 4th. I am going on 7 months with my ICD, and have since returned from a tour in Korea (GO Army). It was nerve racking taking my first flight since having the surgery (in a Korean hospital), To all of you who have in boxed me and guided me through my troubling times of having the surgery thanks for everything. Approximately one year and counting until my retirement from the Army and I get to be a Civilian.
One question, pat down, or go through the detector at airports? I opted for the pat down on first flight, and will opt for pat down on the flight tomorrow. God bless and Happy 4th.

Jay

Thank you for your service to this great nation! We are retired Army ourselves. My husband was in the Army for just over 20 years, me, I'm just the wife. lol.

Pat downs or detectors.... I usually get a pat down but when I am in Washington D.C. visiting our daughter, I go through the "Body Scanner", No problems at all.

We still love to travel and we love to ride our Harley. We had a wonderful, exciting, adventurous life while he was in the Army, but got even better after retirement. We both still continue to work, but we take time to "smell the flowers" everyday now. I am the one with the heart issues, but we get along together just fine.

Enjoy your weekend! Thank you for your service,
Pacergirl

Serving our country on this day of all days.

I fly quite often. I haven't had the pat down yet. I used to tell one of the agents that I had a pm and they would direct me to the body scanner. The ones where you put your hands up-- now I just find the right line and go thru it - piece of cake.

The new scanners (but I think soon to be phased out?) are ok, the metal detectors are not. If there are only metal detectors, ask for the pat down. I tell them about the pm when I give them my id, ask them which line they want me in. Some airports don't care, but some have a preference.

Welcome back to US soil! Thank you for your service.

Happy Birthday America

Airport body scanners

by Jax - 2013-07-04 11:07:32

The old body scanners are being replaced in major airports. They are being replaced with low dose radiation scanners and the scanner will show only a cartoon like figure. They already replaced them at J(FK
Which is my airport I usually fly in and out of. The old body scanners will be moved to less traveled airports.

Pacer and military?

Hello Jay,

I'm currently active duty Marine for 11years and just had pacer implanted for 3rd degree heart block. How did the army react to yours? I'm awaiting my fate and was curious how your process went?
