My 3rd pm was implanted 1/23/13. I went for my 90 day check up last week and found out that this pacemaker will not interrogate. I go back next week to meet with a tech from Medtronic in the hopes that they can "fix" it. Has anyone else ever heard of this? If so, any ideas what to expect? I've had some rhythm issues, but believe that they can mostly be attributed to my overall health and finding myself working at a fast food joint. :) The doctor wanted to double check with the interrogation, and what do you know? No such luck. Any input would be appreciated! Have a blessed whatever time of day it is in your neck of the woods.

I'm glad that's all it was. 13.5 years...I should be so lucky!! You must be so relieved.

Good News

Come to find out, it was a mechanical issue at the doctor's office. They needed to replace their "wand" so that it would read my pacer. I could have been knocked over with a feather when he told me that he used a "long life" battery and that I have 13.5 years left before they have to replace this one. That is twice as long as any previous model! I am elated! :)
Elated!

I'm relieved and completely elated. I'll most likely have grandkids by the time that I will have to have it changed out again. This one battery is supposed to last longer than the previous 2 together! I'm only turning 40 this summer, so I'll be in my early 50's before I have to deal with any of this again! I am feeling very blessed tonight as it settles in that this is DONE for a while. I understand as well as anyone that life happens, but to know that it should be good for so long? It's more than I dared to even pray for! I'm amazed by the medical advancements in just the last 14 years. I was told that the rest of my life would be an "every 5- 10" ordeal. I am not dependent on it, but it is a need. The issue that I have should not force me to be dependant unless something changes. In some ways I'm still in shock! :)

But you have a great attitude and that is so important. We live in such a great time for Medical advancements, you're right. We all can be so grateful for that.
It's a great time to be alive!

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.

I was hoping someone would have responded to you by now, but no one would want to guess or give you the wrong information so you're better off with no response.
Hopefully the rep will be able to help you this week. It appears your Doctor isn't overly concerned since you can wait until this week so maybe that is a little comfort??
