My daughter just had a pacmaker inserted two days ago. She went home today. She lives in another state and I was planning a visit this weekend. I think I'm coming down with a cold. Will it be dangerous for my daughter to have me visit her so soon after her operation?

........Hi Mom, how about using Skype ?? It will save you money on fuel, not put your Girl at any risk and you can come and go, both of you, as you wish.
No substitute for a good Hug, I appreciate, but well,..hey..just an idea..

Having just gone through this, I remember enjoying the cards, messages, and phone calls more than anything. Just tell her you have a cold and she will undersand and appreciate the precaution- for her own comfort more than anything. Keep reminding her how things will quickly get better!
Best to the whole family - its tough for everyone!

General Idea....

....a very dear friend was smashed into by another skier and was choppered off the slopes and ended up with brain surgery (she is fine now).
So many people were phoning to ask how she was that she went a bit nuts.
Her husband solved the problem by reprogramming the Answerphone each day with a short info / bulletin, as in:
" thak you for calling, Judith is doing well today and really appreciates you calling. She is resting, but if you want to leave a message...etc..etc.."
Smart idea, what ?

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
Colds

If you have a pm colds just make you feel so lousy. I know when I get a cold I just feel like I am going to expire. It has even sent me to ER for a check. Best take a dose of common sense all round.
cheers from downunder.
