I have what is probably a dumb question, however, here is my question--I work in the yard a lot and usually wear tank tops. Sometimes my pacemaker area is exposed to the sun. I am very thin and it seems to sit just under the skin. Will the heat from the sun damage it OR me (Smiles) if it is exposed and seems to really get warm? I just noticed the heat on it today while out working. I got my PM mid August last year and wasn't out in the sun much.

Scar tissue & sun

Hi!
The heat shouldn't be a problem, but scar tissue is very sensitive to sunshine, so just make sure that you put some good sunscreen on it several times a day.
Enjoy the sunshine!

I'm in the Philippines and am exposed to the sun daily. I always wear tank-tops since it's hot and humid. It's about 85 - 90 degrees Fahrenheit daily. I swim 3x's a week and sunbath for about 20 minutes. The pacemaker performs well and no problems. The scar is healing nicely and with a tan, it's not noticeable. It depends upon your skin type. Some people are sensitive to the sun.

Thanks for the comeback Angrysparrow. I am far from fair skinned. (Italian) The cold bothers me also just with the pacemaker alone. I think I will see a dermatologist because I too have some weird things going on and around my pacer. Take care !
