Hello, New member here checking in. I was discharged yesterday after implantation of a biventricular pacemaker the day prior. Other than being a little sore and bruised all is well. I look forward to resuming my active lifestyle ASAP.

Thanks for the welcome and advice. The last thing i want is to have a lead detach so i will be very careful.
I have not been as concerned about receiving a pacemaker as I was a for my AVR or endocarditis experience, for these I spent countless hours in Pubmed trying to learn as much as I could, perhaps it is because I have friends with pacemakers that are doing well and lead active lifestyles? I'm sure I'll have questions about settings and modes when I am cleared to return to running and am pleased to have this resource.
welcome!

My pacemaker was installed in 1998 and I have not felt better. The mental part is the toughest.
I agree

I agree totally,to take it easy at first.
Also, donr has been most helpful to me,giving me advice on many of the things both medical and emotional that Ive dealt with.
Im almost 5 months out,and doing well.At first though, that wasnt the case,I did have issues with anxiety as well as some adjustment that was needed after being sent home.It wasnt too rough a road, but also it was more than I expected,so I say also to post when needed, and ask questions.
Give yourself time to adjust, dont be afraid to ask things here, and stay positive.
