I am having a pm implanted in two days. I have a job driving the LIFT (disability) buses for Tri-Met in Portland, Oregon. Are there OREGON laws/regulations regarding when I can return to work after the procedure? I'm seeing opinions ranging from 2 days to 6 months and understand that each state may have different laws about this. I never had any fainting or consciousness problems so the 6 month wait (typically for those reasons) wouldn't apply. Does anyone know specifically about OREGON law here?
Thanks. Jim is tickin

I finished 29th in London in 2 hours 20 minutes 30 seconds which is my fastest with or without a device so clearly it didnt slow me down ! I had no problems apart from some slight chaffing on my scar - more Vaseline next time.

Hi Hearthurt. I am union and my employer and TriMet don't always get along so there's plenty of politics. at the least the union would try to help. I've been driving with a valve since I started im has been any problem except my medical card is only good for 1 year at a time instead of 2. I'm hoping to find a definitiv Oregon law that would address my circumstance. I'll be calling to DMV tomorrow send expect my doctor to have some accurate iinfo. I've been off work for 2 weeks from a calf injury and my p.m. placement tomorrow will extend that. I will need have " good to work" letters from both doctors before I return. you are right about lift driving being a bit physical. what's your guess about how many days after surgery I would be able to drive... not from a legal standpoint but from a physically ready to drive standpoint. thanx Jim is tickin.
