My husband had the listed Medtronic pacemaker. We bought a keyless entry, push button start Camry and a few weeks after starting to drive this he was found dead after getting out of the car and was lying at the front wheel. It was listed as a heart attack but I wonder if it was related to the Camry keyless entry system. Does anybody have any further information?

If the keyless system was going to cause as serious an issue as death it would have been giving him symptoms sooner. It's also rare that even a complete pacer failure would cause such a sudden death. We are constantly surrounded with all sorts of radio frequency signals, some much stronger than the key transmitter.
I'm sorry you have had the loss of your husband. My wife of 48 yrs died in 2007, and I have some idea of the experience.

My husband just passed away last Monday. Went to work, and 2 hours later, gone, right there on the job site. So I know your pain... and I am sorry for your loss.
On to your question. I have a PM. Keyless entry should not/does not bother a PM. (Question: did he have the PM model that comes with a keychain?)
Again sorry for your loss, you are in my prayers.
so sorry

for your loss. sometimes sudden death is unexplainable but if there was an autopsy there should be some explanation or reason. hope this helps. jessie

I'm very sorry to hear about your husband. My prayers are with you.
I wanted to respond to your concern. We have a keyless entry, push button start auto for just about a year now. I have an ICD and I don't seem to have any issues with it.
You may want to call Medtronic and ask them about the safety of using those features with a pacemaker.
Again, I'm sorry for your loss.
