Over 3 months and i still have pain in my arm

Hi everyone,

this is my first post. Im 23 and i live in NH. I was diagnosed with Brugada syndrome on july 18th and had an ICD defibrillator/pacemaker implanted on july 21st. I have never been able to gain weight i get that from my father. im underweight and the icd is very uncomfortable. its been over 3 months since my surgery and i still have discomfort and pain in my left arm. my doctor just says it will pass... which is annoying. has anybody else experienced ongoing pain this far out from surgery?

also im going for a medical evaluation for disability tomorrow as i also experience episodes of vasovagal syncope (fainting) at least once a month. Has anybody applied for disability and had any luck?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks rewired your info was helpful. Have you tried applying for insurance through your state? I was able to get insurance through the state of NH for 12 months.

I had surgery in late april 2012 and my arm kills me after surgery, saving up some money to see a doctor. I still have to much I can sell off before I can get medical help, i lost my insurance since I was out of work a few months so I live with the pain and hoping that my heart is ok since I have not been able to see a doctor in 3 months. life goes on!

I was approved for disability my first go around, but in the US you have to wait 6 months for that and 2 years for medicaid, Insurance is to high for me since I had 3 back surgeries. Considered high risk and payments are way out there. ;

Pain

Hi, I had a painful shoulder and arm for over a year. Everyone said it couldn't be pacemaker related, however 5 weeks ago I had my leads and pacemaker removed and replaced. I realised as soon as I awake from the anesthetic that my arm and shoulder pain had gone, five weeks on it is still gone.
No idea what caused it but it was clearly pacemaker related.

You know you're wired when...
