When does the pm settle?

So a curious question? I am now 16 days post implant, finally back to work, and feeling better. A little tired, but I think that's cuz I'm used to sleeping in and taking naps during the day, and not used to working my 12 hr shifts :) Anyways....my question. How long does it take until the pm settles down into its pocket, and is no longer visible? I don't really care that it's visible, I just start to worry that there might be something wrong. Thoughts? and thanks in advance.

It varies how long it takes to settle but can be as long as 6 mos to a year. Some people always have a lump, depends on your surgeon and your build. It should get a whole lot better than it is now! Glad you are feeling well.

It Can Take A While

Mine took a while too. For a few weeks, it was the size of a baseball, and I'm a small framed woman. I was terrified it wasn't going to go down.

I used arnica gel (you just need a little) over the entire site and it helped a LOT. I wish I would have used it sooner than I did. As soon as I started using it, the lump went down within days. You can hardly see it at all now.

Tammy, how soon after implantation did you start using the gel? Mine is probably the size of a half tennis ball. Definitely better than it was, but still there. I don't mind waiting 6 mo if it goes down on it's own. If arnica gel helps, then definitely. The darn seat belt hurts a lot on it!

Hi Cindy,

I started using it 3-4 weeks after I had my PM put it. I used the Arniflora brand. Just use enough to cover the whole area. Yours sounds about the same size as mine was when I used it.

I put it on one night before I went to bed, and when I woke up the next morning, it had shrunk to about half it's size. I waited a few days and used it again, and again it shrunk to half it's size overnight. Not even my doctors could believe how great it looked!
