strange sensation!!!

Hi everyone not been in here for a while hope everyone is ticking along nicely iv been ticking just fine, more so after i got past my 6month post op. just one thing i would like to ask i had my interrigation on monday 14th oct and all was well 38% A paced and 40% V paced, not much diff from my last check at 3 months said somthing about p waves ect.. to the tech taking the notes and battery 2v with 12yrs left not a clue what all the jargon they were on about to each other, but was told all is ok :) given the option of 6 or 12 months to return so opted for the 12 months. As of yesterday and today iv had this strange sensation of a quiet strong beat under my rib and into my throat its almost like there is a little man inside tapping with a little hammer could this be the pm pacing iv felt it pace me in the past but never like this i feel ok just not sure what this is, im in DDD mode no RR as i dont need it and am positve no settings were changed. Any one any ideas.

Thanks

Kimbo :)

PVC's ??

Hi Kimbo, Your posting sounds so familiar as it's a regular complaint. In my 22 years of 6 pacemakers I have experienced very few (knock on wood).PVC beats.
Physically it's the timing of filling the chambers in your heart causing a light beat from a small load of blood followed my a large load causing a big thump.
You might want to do a search by going into right corner under searcg& entering PVC. Lots of postings as it's so common.

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
