as long as it doesn't impact your job performance, it's your business and you have a right to privacy.

Depends

I am an employer and also have a pacemaker. Depending on your device and why it was implanted (I had an AV node ablation and I'm 100% paced) may impact the type of work you do. For instance, if your job requires a lot of strenuous physical activity and are limited because of the pacemaker (versus being out of shape which is something you have control over) - then you may want to consider a different line of work. However, if the job requires moderate physical activity that you can handle then it should make no difference to your employer - as long as you can do your work well (which is something you can control).

Legally, you don't have to disclose your pacemaker. However, I have had employees (with other disabilities that curtailed their physical activity required by the job statement) hire on and then I found out after the fact that they required special accommodation - which by law I have to provide. These are good people and had I known about their issue (which by law I cannot ask about), I would have hired them in a different capacity.

For me, this is an ethical issue that you need to deal with. If you are not limited by the assigned work, then not a big deal. If you are, seriously consider developing other skills and abilities that you can perform. You have a long life to live and contribute to society. Do the right thing.

Sometimes a device must be tuned a few times before it is right. My cardiologist said it is like fine tuning a car.
