nurses

Looking for any nurses out there that have a PM implanted. I am 9 days post op and would like to talk to other nurses to see how they felt going back to work.

Good Morning. I am a nurse and was on restrictions for 6 weeks after and at that point I really didn't even think about it and was just happy to be back at it. No issues since :) Hope everything goes well for you!

I was off a month after I got my PM. I was concerned about not raising my arm at work and was planning to take two weeks off, and then came down with shingles so I was off another two weeks. I went back to work and had two week of no lifting or pushing stretchers. My coworkers really worked with me.

I have had my pm just one week. I was actually planning to go back this week, but I work in a long term care facility and pass meds...our med carts are heavy and my nurse- daughter and co-workers convinced me that it would make sense to be off for the month that I am not supposed to lift/push/pull more than 10#. I've worked there 40 years and never used a sick day! :-)
Planning to go on a mission trip to Haiti in two weeks unless my cardiologist says different when I see him today. He did not foresee that would be a problem. I am going to be excited to go back, I think!
