Wenkiebach and a Pacemaker

Last time I posted I was days away from becoming battery operated. Tests showed severe drops in heart rate and skips up to 3 seconds. I was feeling worn out most of the time and had frequent "melt downs" when I had to drop and sleep. Dr. ordered one more 2wk halter monitor to satisfy insurance. It came back neg. Puzzled he ordered a 4wk monitor. Nothing. He did a stress test and ultra sound...nothing. He can't say what happened to my wenkiebach but he gave me a clean bill of health with no restrictions. During the first test I started feeling really good! Remembered what normal was.

Here's where it get's interesting-
I asked him what caused the wenkiebach to disappear. He paused like he didn't really want to say, but he said sometimes during ablation surgery the AV note can be damaged. It can take years for it to heal (I had ablation surgery for A-fib 3+ yrs ago). I suddenly remembered talking to my cardiac surgeon when I was diagnosed with wenkiebach a yr after my ablation. When asked if ablation might have caused the wenkiebach he paused for a long time, gave me an odd look then said no it was unrelated.

Don't jump to any conclusions concerning your own condition, but this is just one more bit of anecdotal evidence to consider.

Guess I won't be joining the pacemaker club just yet, but I have a feeling it's a mater of time.

You have a pacemaker...it's just your natural one.

Are you sure he didn't mean Winkie Back?
