I don't know for sure, but I used an electric hedge trimmer without any problems, and I also tilled my garden with a 5 hp tiller... no problems... I'm guessing some member with that knowledge will chime in and tell you not to hold it near your PM...
so, whatcha building out there? a squwabbit cage?

Should be fine

I'm more familiar with a PM and not defibs but as long as the saw is properly grounded, no issues with the cord, it should be fine. With a PM RR On vibrations could cause your HR to go up. The general rule of thumb seems to be to have someone else turn it on and then you slowly approach it and see how you feel. You can also go to your device website and look at what they say but remember that their lawyers wrote the recommendations and they tend to be pretty conservative.

I've used my electric leaf blower with no issues.

One thing to watch

by SteveE - 2013-08-16 10:08:25

One thing I ran into without expecting it was that when I was running a small handheld polisher, the vibration affected my PM's rate response function. It caused my heart to race for a few minutes - quite worrisome until I figured it out.

Thanks!!

I truely appreciate your advice..My biggest fear is vibrations that MIGHT make my ICD think my heart is beating too fast and in return will shock me. lol...Bev

Good question

Hi, I have my own woods shop setup in my hubby's half of the garage :-) he did agree haha. Anyway, I use an assortment of tools. Band saw, drills, circular saw, router, and... The chop saw or reciprocating saw. However I NEVER use the chainsaw. I never have, I don't like it and I don't have the upper arm strength to safety handle it. I've never had a problem with my PM while using any of the tools.
I'd suggest speaking with your dr., let someone know that you are going to be using power tools and then, have some fun. Relax, enjoy yourself and be careful.
